How the score works

Each reading is classified as exposed (shown), observed masked or changing (blended), or unavailable (refused). These classifications are evidence from this test, not proof that a tracker cannot link you.

The score is the share of what this tool checks that stays hidden, weighted by how identifying each reading is. It does not estimate how rare you are. A strong reading still shown is named next to the grade.

A high score summarizes this experiment. Unknown or failed readings receive no protection credit. An incomplete result has grade I, measurement coverage and a lower-bound score. Method and working in METHODOLOGY.md.

Browser privacy test coverage

Privacyassay checks canvas, WebGL, WebGPU, audio, fonts, layout, device details and other browser fingerprint surfaces. It compares a second site when available; WebRTC public-IP and cross-site storage tests are optional. Results depend on the browser, operating system, settings and tests that finish.

This is not a complete privacy or security assessment. It does not test tracker blocking, browser telemetry, AI assistants' data handling, DNS or TLS fingerprinting, or resistance to every tracking technique. AI API availability does not reveal whether Firefox AI features or another browser's assistant are enabled. Unsupported and unmeasured features must not be read as proof of safety.
